Who we are
Tamibel Group is a Uruguayan logistic solution company, operating in the port of Montevideo, which has been growing steadily and dynamically since its beginnings.
Its origins, in 2006, were as a trucking company dedicated to the containers movement. It was soon to be followed by the necessary equipment to provide logistic services (cranes, forklifts, Reach Stacker, etc.). Then it successfully ventured into the loading and discharge of fishing vessels and reefers.
Continuing with its track record of pro-active operator, it identified a demand for a “one-stop-shop” to meet all the cargo, crew and vessels management needs. It therefore incorporated new services: shipping agent, ship chandlers, ocean freights and custom clearance.
Thus Tamibel evolved to become part of Tamibel Group, a seasoned company whose business strategy aims to offer a “one-stop-shop” to all its customers. An organization that faces the future with a strategic vision and projection towards the excellence in port, shipping and logistics services.
Its commitment to their customers remains unchangeable since the very first day: offer the solution that bests suits its needs, in the shortest possible time and with the best possible price.
It has 120 permanent employees and more than 300 temporary workers. It moves more than 13.000 containers monthly. Discharges more than 100.000 tons of frozen cargo each year. Investment in machinery includes more than 30 trucks equipped with radio and GPS, 3 reach stackers, 10 forklifts, 3 cranes, specialized equipment, its own maintenance workshop and warehouse. Two offices: one operative (inside port area) and other administrative.
To be recognized by customers, employers, suppliers and interest groups linked to the activity, as the leading organization in growth and innovation within the port-maritime services market.
Exceed what is expected from us. Contribute to the development of our customers as a reflection of our own growth. High quality standards, constant dialogue and service excellence, are the pillars that must support our business relationships.

It has weekly services with large shipping lines operating container vessels, meaning immediate containers´ dispatch all over the world.
Free Port = Tax free
Uruguay has huge comparative and competitive advantages regarding legal regulations, specially the statute of the free port, warehouses availability on site, and the off-dock container terminals.
The 1992 Port Law established tax exemption for goods in transit inside the port. Among the measures adopted by this regulation it is noted that all types of transactions with goods can be made freely provided they do not involve a change in nature (sub-divisions, selection, mixing, re-packaging, re-marking, labelling, etc.). Free movement of goods (buy/sell/transfer) is allowed without requiring formal procedures or approval of any kind. All this can be carried out any time, 365 days a year.
