Port of Montevideo inaugurates its brand-new Dock C

This is a multi-million worth project, whose ribbon cutting ceremony took place on February 4th. One of the most long-awaited works in order to decongest Port of Montevideo.

The work, executed by the consortium Solentanche Bachy (France) Saceem (Uruguay) and Dredging international (Belgium), included a paved esplanade of more than 3 hectares reclaimed from the sea. This dock is mainly used as an operational area but also as warehouse.

It is a public multipurpose dock with berthing facilities of 368 mt. long and 35 mt wide. It will serve bulk carriers, container ships, cruise ships, fishing and reefer vessels as well.

At an initial stage the dock was designed to accommodate deep-draft cargo vessels up to 10,5 mt but in the future it will accommodate up to 12 mt.
